New Years Day

Woke at 9:30am in a fluster, was going to be late!!! I saw SIAN!!!! at Buckingham palace might I just add! Hehe! I has a photo... but it's on Sian's camera so here is some others.

Sian left the palace before me and then we just couldn't seem to catch each other again... so I did a few other things. Accidently walked into Westminster Cathedral. Was good though as it was in the middle of a service so I sat down and listened in. It was absolutley breath taking - literally. I really don't know what happened but after a few minutes I became very overwhelmed and felt a little claustrophobic. I was short of breath and just needed to get out of there. So the next hymn when everyone stood up I had to leave... was the weirdest thing ever! The cathedral though was gorgeous!

After this I went to take photos of the Houses of Parliament and accidentally walked into Westminster Abbey. Oops but yay again!! It was absolutely stunning! A service had just finished so people were walking out, the bells were ringing, it was amazing!

After taking photos of the Houses of Parliament I once again, accidentally, walked into the New Years Parade. So watched that. Was really cool. Although I didn't know so many people from America came across for it! 3 full cheer squads and 5 marching bands + the British stuff. Was weird but cool.

By the end of the parade I was drenched. It started raining just before the end of the parade. It was the first time since being here that I found it miserable. Usually it's light and doesn't bother you, or really heavy but only last 10 minutes. But this was constant dribbles. Was to heavy to be be showers but not heavy enough to be drenching.... I came home had soup and watched a movie (well a few minutes of a movie before I fell asleep :) ). The rest of the day has consisted of updating this blog and that now has everyone up to date to right this very moment - photos and a few videos to come later... it's 11:30 so goodnight everyone! Love

  2. I'm glad you and Sian got to catch up, albeit briefly!! She called last night (our time) and sounded full of beans - she managed 9 hrs sleep on the flight!! take care, Toni
