Sunday – Final day in Ireland
Woke about 10.00am and checked out. Went and sat at Macca’s and have now been sitting here for four hours doing stuff. Not anything particular, just zoning out and stuff.
Headed off to the ferry about 2.30pm and sat at the ferryport for nearly 5 hours before I finally got to check in. Just looking out the window behind me, I can only see the ‘FE’ of Irish Ferries written on the side of the ferry. It’s Mass!! OK, so no big shock, but when it’s there in reality it is much easier to understand!
When I got on the ferry, I had a little Titanic moment. Although nowhere near as glamorous in my uggies and trackies! Sat down at the back of the ferry near the kids playground as we took off and watched a little girl playing on the equipment. I then headed to the Cinema and watched War Horse. Good Film! The movie nearly took me the whole trip but was a good way to keep awake and not get bored. :)
Got off in Holyhead around midnight and realised that I was actually in Wales!! :) :) Was an exciting moment but it didn’t last long when I got so tired and ended up falling asleep on the cold floor of the train station.
Nearly missed my train, it just happened that someone close by mistook me for someone else and woke me up. Got on the train at 4.30am and fell asleep almost straight away and was that way until we arrived in London at 8.30am.
Trekked across London with my luggage again, although not as much this time and got to London Victoria to realise that I had booked my ticket for the wrong date, I then brought another ticket and realised that it was the wrong train and so third time lucky finally brought a train ticket home.
Got home just after 12.00pm and went and got lunch. Second meal in 4 days, Was soooo good! Went back up to the house and had a shower as I felt incredibly gross from travelling and then went to Lifeguard training at 2.00pm. Came back at about 4.30pm and fell asleep straight away. My Housemistress woke me up at dinner time and when I came back from dinner, I bet you can guess what I did! SLEPT!! :)
Was such a great trip (excluding the mishap at the end) and would highly recommend to people. Yes there was drinking almost everyday but you didn’t have to stick with the group of the night when they were drinking and had so much free time! Was so good to see the historical side of Ireland and the touristy places and still be able to see today’s Ireland and see the nightlife. So very glad I went!!! :) :)
